Once again Albany ran the annual ride to raise funds for the Salvos to support families that are doing it tough. There was a fabulous turnout with close to 300 motorcycles taking part.
They came from near and far to take part in this special event. Bikes of all shapes and sizes travelled the new course of the run.
Father Christmas led the parade with his Police escort. From Foundation Park, the riders rode along Stirling Terrace and around Marine Drive turning on to Golf Links Road and turned again at Troode Street. From here, they went all the way along Ulster Rd to North Road and turned up Sanford Road before following Albany Highway to the Monument at the top of York Street.
Back on Middleton Beach Rd, they headed to the beach and went around Marine Drive in the reverse direction.
Finally, from Stirling Terrace they turned up York Street stopping at Alison Hartman Gardens.
Donations were collected by the Salvation Army Officers. Everyone was able to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and a piece of cake. It is pleasing to note that all the donations received will be distributed in the Albany, Denmark and Mount Barker area. It is great to see this ride so well supported.
