Economy Run
Lots of riders turned up at our starting
point
for the economy run. All the riders nominated their fuel economy and at
10.15 am we all set off for the ride. The weather was great, calm and
sunny. We rode to Little Grove and went through Robinson, beautiful
windy roads with massive trees on the side of the road. We took the
Lower Denmark Road and turned off into Elleker-Grassmere road. Andrew
got flashed by a speed camera sitting on the side of the road!
We had a look at the surfers at Mutton Bird
and headed to the Elleker
General store for a coffee break. We took Marbellup Road, Link Road,
Menang Drive and turned off into
Rocky Crossing Road. Bon Accord Road followed and then onto Nanarup
Road. We rode all the way to North Road where everybody filled up with
fuel. It was quite confusing for the lady in the petrol station because
most bikes took only 3 or 4 litres of fuel. Garry ended paying for
Warwick’s fuel and Clive ended paying for Garry’s. We recorded the
amount of litres used and most people headed for the Forts where we
were going to have our bbq.
The sausages and steaks were sizzling on
the barbie and we worked out whose nomination was the closest. It
turned out that visitor Larry was the closest. Ronnie handed over the
trophy (which Phil had made before). Clive and Marilyn had organized
little plaques to put the winners’ names on. It looks great and we can
add
another 8 names.
It was a great ride, thanks to Adam and Rossi
for doing back up.
