Ian's silver streak RD400,
looking better than new...
A 1976 RD400 Yamaha was the basis for Ian Grant’s home-made special.
It was built using parts from other bike manufacturers (some bought
on ebay) as well as making some of the parts himself.
The end result is a fantastic bike that goes as well as it looks. Here’s a
brief description of parts used:
- RZ 350 tank
- RGV master cylinder
- TX500 twin discs
- Shockies Bevel Drive Ducati
- Instruments - accessory parts - Speedo $45US
- Tacho $38US
- Mufflers - Colray Exhausts
- Ducati Pantah calipers
- Carbies X7 Suzuki - bored out 2mm
- Y-Build air cleaner
- Kymco indicators
- Home-made handlebars and headlight brackets.
Ian has had some great buys on ebay - maybe that’s another avenue to use to find that missing part! Congratulations Ian - the bike looks like is straight off the showroom floor.
