Our Annual Pink Ribbon Ride to raise money for breast cancer
research was well attended as usual. There were at least 33 bikes (a
lot two-up) and four cars.
This year the men were invited from the beginning. The ride was in
glorious weather and took us from The Amity Tavern, Millbrook Road to
Narrikup for morning tea. We then rode onto Denmark to regroup before
riding up Shadforth Road to John Pate’s property for lunch or BBQ - it
was a beautiful setting.
The raffle was won by Anne Hoult (new member). The prize was a
chocolate stuffed bra covered with Scratchies). Would you believe that
after scratching the scratchies only $16.00 ended up in Anne’s purse.
Debbie won the hair product from Rainbow Room (Denmark) and Betty won
the wire basket from Wombat Lodge. Numerous people won the discount
vouchers also from the Rainbow Room. After lunch the energetic were
taken on a walk around John’s bushland property (with a bit of huff and
puff from the men)! I find that hard to believe - Bob
All in all a great day - We raised $550 for Breast Cancer Research.
Thank you to all that came on the ride and a special thanks to the
donators of the prizes.
The Albany Vintage & Classic Motorcycle Club donated $50.00 prize
money.
