Last
year 116 riders paid a deposit towards this year's event. As
of today 10th August 110 of those riders have fully completed their
entries, therefore we are not looking for any more riders for the
Hillclimb itself.
There is room in two categories however: Entry Form Rally Entry Form Show
This year there will be only two groups of over 55 riders in each,
as we have
made every effort to streamline the event for time.
We have some very interesting bikes entered this year.
Some rare ones that may reward a special look are a Calthorpe,
and a
1958 Hagon BSA to
name just two.
The Japanese motorcycles are becoming more evident with an increase
in names like
Honda,
Suzuki, Kawasaki and Yamaha.
A few of the rarer makes like Royal Enfield, Sunbeam, Benelli,
Velocette,
Indian and even Lambretta are also making an appearance this year, some
for
the first
time.
We have 11 different Vintage Motorcycle Clubs represented amoung the
riders.
An increase in the amount of female entrants should help to decrease
the gender imbalance, with 10 women riding this year.
For those people who like an extra wheel added to the bike, there are 6
sidecars, with Bill McDermott returning with his very rapid Jawa. We
have two
hillclimb
specials - a Grindley and a TriBSA .
Among the entrants we have two riders who have
ridden in every one of the previous 19 Hillclimb Weekends.
