The Christmas Party was a great success with 70 members, partners
and family at the Webb’s place near
the Forts.
What a great venue, the undercover area was ideal for a night of
entertainment - Trevor Owen style.
Before the entertainment started there were salads and BBQ lamb,
sausages and buns to be consumed. The cooking was beautifully done by
Murray, Morris, Des and other celebrated chefs.
After the meal, tables were removed to make way for a variety of
international acts that were to appear for our entertainment.
Tom Jones was first to dazzle us
belting out one song after another,
(bringing a tear to this Welshman).
After Tom we were entertained by that well-known Chinese magician Fu
Wang Kin who performed some astonishing tricks, I think that
Fu Kin (as he is know to his friends) even astonished himself.
After dazzling the audience with his skill and dexterity Wang Kin
(as he is known to his close friends) left the stage to be replaced by
a bloke that many people thought were dead.
Yes it was Elvis Presley! The rumours were right he had been hiding in
Denmark all these years — but he still remembered how to sing and what
a great voice he had.
Later in the evening Trevor (the voice) Owen appeared singing one
hit after another.
By then the party were up and dancing and the night finished with all
that could move doing the Conga — what an amazing sight that was.
A great night.
Thanks to Dave and Marilyn Webb for the use of their home, Des and
Owen Gaze for supplying the meat, all the ladies who helped provide
salads, Clive and Marilyn Smith who helped organise the night with the
Webb’s. Trevor for the entertainment and helpers Marg, Richard and
Lynette.
$10 entry was charged per person and with 70 people, $700 was donated
to the Albany Hospice.
Well done to the organisers and all the members who supported the
event.
Mr Fu Wang Kin, the amazing Chinese magician.
