What a ripper of a day for the ride to Shannon River! Clear, still and sunny, it was nice not to worry about wet weather gear for a change. There were 20 bikes that headed for Denmark where we were met by Fabrice and family on their Kawasaki sidecar, 4-up. It was a real people mover.
On to Walpole for a cuppa where Max and Julie turned up. Max on his trusty R100RT and Julie on a Triumph Bonneville. Some of the mob decided that Walpole was the place for lunch, while the majority headed the extra 65kms to Shannon River. It’s a beautiful spot with an undercover BBQ which was put to good use.
The weather was that good, it would have been nice to have kept riding, but it was time to return home, stopping in Walpole again for fuel. Julie’s Triumph was cruising along nicely at 120kms. I had a look at it, and not a drop of oil anywhere! Not bad for a 30 year old - bike that is, not Julie, not that she’s bad either - Oh I’d better shut up before I say the wrong thing.
Great ride though.
