17 LADIES on bikes followed by 3 cars (25 women) left Albany on October 26 for our annual Pink Ribbon Ride for Breast Cancer Research.
We rode to the Kendenup Fair via the Porongurups, stopping to
re-group at Mt Barker.
It caused quite a stir amongst the locals to see these women riders
arrive en masse.
After a look around we headed off to Erin and Murray Hall’s farm for
a “Garden Viewing & Lunch”. Erin’s garden was a delight to see.
The raffle was donated by Lush’s Garden Centre in Campbell Road and
won by Marilyn Smith, and a generous donation towards lunch was made by
Dewson’s in Albany.
We had arranged to meet our menfolk at Gilbert’s Winery for
afternoon tea and then ride home with them. All in all a very enjoyable
day - We raised $397 for the fund.
Many thanks to all those who attended and donated, and thank you to Erin and Murray for their hospitality.
